Osama Dawod received his MFA in photography from the San Francisco Art Institute where he was the recipient of the Photography Department Merit Fellowship. Prior to this he undertook a BFA in Design from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Cairo.
Dawod has participated in exhibitions, projects and residencies in Egypt, Spain, Nepal, Ethiopia, Denmark, Greece, Bahrain, Germany and the USA. In Egypt these include Townhouse Gallery, Contemporary Image Collective, Hellenic Center for Photography, Athens; Museum fur Photographie, Braunschweig; Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe, Hamburg; Al Riwaq Gallery, Manama; AUC Falaki Gallery, and the Palace of Arts, Meinblau, Berlin; and World Press Photo, Amsterdam.
From 2011-2013 Dawod was Assistant Professor of Photography at the American University in Cairo, Department of the Arts and now teaches photography and design at the Scientific College of Design in Muscat. Currently, Dawod is a PhD candidate at the Complutense University of Madrid, Faculty of Fine Arts.
